What do I need to bring to get a document notarized?
You will need to bring a valid government-issued ID, the document to be notarized and any other necessary paperwork or forms. The document should also be completely filled out prior to the appointment.
3
Can you notarize a document if I'm not physically present?
In order for a document to be notarized the signer has to be physically present before the notary. Personal appearance is required under California state law.
4
What should I do if I have questions about a specific document before notarizations?
It's important to seek legal advice from an attorney if you have questions about the contents of a document. I can only assist with the notarization process itself.
5
Is notarization the same as legal advice or the drafting of legal documents?
No, a notary public is not a legal advisor and cannot provide legal advice or draft legal documents. I can only verify the authenticity of signatures and the identity of a signer.
6
What is the difference between a notary public and a notary signing agent?
A notary signing agent is a specialized notary who is trained to handle loan documents and real estate transactions.
Notary public serves as a neutral witness, verifying identities, mental capacity, and willingness to make this decision. I ensure the document is properly signed and follows all regulations.
